If you’re like most women I’pretty sure you do your best not to bother people around you but stroke is serious business and requires immediate attention.
Acting fast can make a life or death difference for someone who’s having a stroke which is why its essential to be prepared in case you or someone else is having a stroke, you could save lives following the F.A.S.T method.
The national stroke association suggests using the term “fast” to help you recognize common stroke symptoms.
F – face: if you notice someone with a droop or uneven smile its the first warning sign
A- arms: arm weakness or numbness is also a warning sign. Ask the person to raise their arms and if the arm drops down or isn’t steady it means they’re probably having a stroke.
S- speech difficulty: try to repeat a sentence or a mantra or something, if you or the other person can’t its a sure sign of a stroke.
T-time: its time to seek immediate help, call 911 or your local emergency services.
Other symptoms might include but are not limited to :
-numbness on one side of the limbs
-vision problems in one or both eyes
Women have other symptoms which can happen suddenly like:
-shortness of breath
Stroke is not only the Number 4 cause of death in the US, but it’s also a leading cause of long-term disability. That’s why it’s important to take action asap.
